Project Description
The project is an Enterprise-Based Training (EBT) initiative under the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) Project, implemented through approved Industrial Skills Training Providers/Skills Training Providers proposed by the Informal Sector Industry Skills Council (ISISC).
The EBT model is designed to provide industry-driven, practical skills training directly within the premises of partner enterprises or industry-related training facilities. The approach combines theoretical learning with hands-on practical experience, allowing trainees to develop job-ready competencies under the guidance of industry experts and qualified TVET instructors.
Under the approved 4th Cycle, different training providers were approved to conduct occupational skills training in areas such as IT Support Service, Graphic Design for Freelancing, Food & Beverage Production, Retail Sales Operations, Entrepreneurship Development, Tour Guiding, and Hand Stitching & Embroidery. The approved occupations cover different occupational levels and generally include 24 trainees per training batch.
The project emphasizes practical skills development, industry linkage, employability, workforce productivity, and inclusive access to skills development opportunities. The training is intended to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical workplace requirements.
Expected Result
The expected results of the project are:
- Development of job-ready technical and occupational competencies among trainees.

- Increased opportunities for disadvantaged groups, including women, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities, to participate in skills development.
- Strengthened industry-institute linkage through employer involvement in training design, delivery, and assessment.
The 4th Cycle Enterprise-Based Training project under the ASSET Project aims to provide industry-driven, practical and job-oriented skills training through approved training providers and industry partners. The project focuses on developing job-ready competencies, improving employability and productivity, and creating sustainable employment and self-employment opportunities through market-relevant technical and vocational skills training.
